The meat that may not be mentioned

19 Jul

I found this little gem at the back of our grocery cupboard this morning.

Nothing particularly remarkable about it from the front, it’s one of those,  just-add-water-milk-and-butter-and-it’s-ready-in-10-minutes-meals. Things get more interesting when you turn the packet over.

See the recipe suggestion printed on the back, see the black marks all over the recipe? From what I can deduce, the word bacon has been blacked out. You see pork products are not sold in The Land of Sand and if you are caught trying to bring it into the country, you get a ‘pork smuggler’ stamp in your passport,  it is serious stuff indeed.

So JUST IN CASE I was thinking of making this meal with the imaginary bacon in our fridge…the recipe has been completely sabotaged. Darn it!

Great to read everytime your stories! We cannot make that much comment anymore because of the lack of internet connection here!! And we are talking about USA……. can you believe that!

We saw already wild bears….just in front of us….pretty scary I have to say. It was a mum with 3 cups sooooooo cute!

Is it still hot in the land of sand? Strange enough we miss the place, people and way of life…I know it sound crazy but….. anyway take care, happy summer and big hug from the land of ICE 😉 Fay x

A world without bacon? I don’t know if I’d want to live in one without bacon, I love it sooo much. What would happen if you got caught buying that, would you get in trouble or would they chase after the bacon smuggler?
