Room with a VIEW

14 Nov

When we wake up and step outside these days, this is our view:

  • to the left

  • and to the right:

Things are clearly a changing in the Land of Sand. Our cup runneth over, financially speaking, so we thought we’d make some changes in our garden!

Nah, not really! It’s Eid al Adha, Olaf has some time off work so we are spending a week in Muscat, Oman.

It is wonderful to be spending time at the sea again. And being in this part of the world the water temperature is like bath water. One can spend hours floating in the swells and not get cold until late afternoon. Luka was in the water at 7 this morning and we drag him away in the afternoon when he starts changing colour. Check out the blue lips

Mid-day naps are no longer taken indoors, he simply sleeps on a lounger on the side of the pool and heads straight back in as soon as he wakes up.

The hotel is nestled between the foot of the mountains and the sea which makes for spectacular scenery, especially when one comes from a flat, dusty city. It really is beautiful.

Yesterday, whilst Luka slept and Olaf kept an eye on him I took a kayak and paddled over to these mountains. Just around the corner, out of view was a huge hole in the mountain. You can just see the top of the arch between the palm trees. I would have loved to have a camera with me to snap a photo but my recent history with cameras prevents me from risking anything like that.

Oh, my gosh! how beautiful is that. I’m sure you don’t know yourselves surrounded by all that ocean for a change. Have a wonderful holiday!

It sure is lovely and so very chilled out. All the time outside in the fresh air and swimming all day has us shanked by 9 pm though so we are in bed early despite the relaxing days.
Tomorrrow we head into the city and to an interesting traditional souk with our friend Toby so will post some pics again soon.

Looks absolutely lovely Pips, and your little boy looks soooo cute. Am really enjoying this blog of yours. Don’t always manage to put up comments because I am a bit doff with this, but here goes. Hope the rest of your time is good.

      Thanks Aunty Shane
It is lovely to hear from you. We arrived back from Muscat last night. I will hopefully get to do a post about the city of Muscat today, it is a beautiful Middle Eastern city. Thanks so much for leaving a comment, I do appreciate it.
